Previous owners had moved the fireplace from the parlor to a bedroom. Hal reversed and restored the firebox and hearth and re-lined the chimney for us. The fireplace draws beautifully now, and our guests can once again enjoy magnificent fires in the parlor of our 1860s farmhouse. A job done well and on time is rare and wonderful. And so is Hal Burr.

Chimney and Fireplace Restoration
The project encompassed the following items:
1. Broken stone lintel
2. Rebuilding fireboxes
3. Repointing fireplaces and chimneys
4. Replacing missing antique bricks
5. Lining flues with stainless steel liners
6. Installing flue caps
After interviewing numerous firms, it was determined that only one firm (The Best in Chimneys) could handle all aspects of the entire project. Hal Burr and his associates addressed each of the items with thoughtful professionalism. One chimney was four stories high and required special scaffolding that they purchased for this job. They were neat and clean when working in the house. They brought the project in on time and within the budget. They really are THE BEST IN CHIMNEYS.
